Work permit in the UK after studies

After successfully completing your bachelors/masters degree from a UK university, students are eligible for a 2 year Post Study Work (PSW) visa. The duration of the PSW visa for PhD students is 3 years. Transitioning to a PSW allows international students to be able to work in most jobs, look for work, be self-employed, do voluntary work or even travel abroad and return to the UK. There is no need for a job offer or a salary cap to apply for a PSW, also students can look for work in any field.

If you want to stay longer in the UK after your PSW, you need to switch to a different visa like a Skilled Worker Visa.

Pathway to staying in the UK

After completion of PSW, international students can apply for a Skilled Worker Visa (previously Tier 2 visa).
